Instead the flood plain margin was estimated to be where break in slope, elevation change and contour information were in consistent agreement.</SPAN></SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN STYLE="font-weight:bold;">NB:</SPAN><SPAN /><SPAN>At the southern section of the map, the flood plain for the river mouth was not easily discernible. In this case, the margin has been mapped to follow Works Road from Pukeuri to the river mouth.</SPAN></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN /></P><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN>This layer is a subset of a wider mapped extent for the Waitaki River Floodplain. The mapped Otago Flood Hazard and ECan flood hazard areas (where they overlap with the Waitaki FloodPlain) have been clipped out to preserve clarity on rules for the Waitaki District Plan Review 2021. This layer has been prepared for the ORC-ECan Waitaki District Plan Story Map. </SPAN></P><P /><P STYLE="margin:0 0 0 0;"><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
